Hudson’s Bay(bies)

Documentary

In the wake of a personal dilemma, artist and filmmaker Elisapie Isaac embarks on a journey to meet those who, like her, are nicknamed “Hudson’s babies,” the descendants of white men who were sent by the Hudson’s Bay Company to oversee its trading posts across Canada for decades. The documentary sheds light on the stories of these Hudson’s Bay(bies), all the while exploring the intricate background of the Hudson’s Bay Company, a history deeply rooted in the foundation of this country.
